Responsibilities:

Able to recognize high risk patients and intervene appropriately.

Able to assess patients understanding of the benefits, risks and complications of therapeutic treatment.

Revise, prescribe and implement therapeutic regimen using an interdisciplinary approach based on evolving biomedical, clinical sciences (JCAHO core measures).

Able to follow written guidelines for therapeutic regimen but able to adjust according to patients’ individual needs.

Able to identify problems/situations beyond level of expertise and seek physician assistance promptly.

Uses evidence based methods to investigate, evaluate and improve patient care practice.

Monitor’s patient progress and provide collaborative treatment and communication with the healthcare team.

Displays appropriate documentation based on professional and medical staff guidelines. (Joint commission and CMS)

Ensures patient/family education regarding clinical condition and relevant aspects of care.

Facilitates discharge planning using an inter-disciplinary approach.

Ensures that practice adheres to the provision of the Nurse Practitioner-Physicians Attestation agreement.

Demonstrates commitment to one’s professional growth as well as other members of clinical staff and ethical practice.

Maintain continuing education requirements for certification and BLS certification.

Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills that enable one to establish and maintain professional relations with patients, families, colleagues and other members of the healthcare team.

Promotes the spiritual care mission.

Qualifications

Licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Maryland

National Board Certification

BLS certification

PMHNP Certification
